Man United boss Ole Solskjaer has received praise over his man-management of unsettled midfielder Paul Pogba.
Asides from guiding United to the top of the Premier League table, Ole Solskjaer has been hailed for bringing out the best from Paul Pogba.
The Frenchman has seen an unsettled time at Old Trafford this term, with multiple issues hinging on his contract situation with the club.
The most unexpected twist came when super agent Mino Raiola revealed that Pogba will most ‘likely’ leave United come to the end of the season.
The timing of those comments came at a crucial time for the Red Devils just ahead of their win-or-bust Champions League tie with RB Leipzig at the time.
United lost that game and bowed out of the Champions League and it was no surprise to see Solskjaer voice out at the timing of those comments.
Regardless, the Norwegian has continued to back his player and severally declared his intention to support the midfielder for as long as he remained at the club.
Pogba has repaid the faith with some good performances of late and his latest came after an important goal against Burnley to throw the title race wide open.
Journalist Jamie Jackson has now pointed out the fact that Solskjaer also deserves some credit for helping the player turn his fortunes around.
He said to talkSPORT: “It was a good team performance; Fernandes wasn’t at his absolute best but Pogba stepped up and he was the difference, especially in the second-half.”
“Solskjaer’s man-management of Pogba after the Raiola outburst has been an absolute exhibition in how to manage a player for the benefit of the team.”
“He didn’t get in any slanging match with Raiola, Solskjaer is above that; he just thought about what was best for this team.”
“Solskjaer is doing what Guardiola does, what Klopp does, ensuring there’s competition for places, because that brings the best out of players.”
