As he goes through a tough moment at Manchester United, Jadon Sancho just got support from his manager by explaining his dip in form.

When he first arrived at Manchester United to play under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Jadon Sancho came with the promise to possibly become a star. He was already delivering unreal numbers in the Bundesliga for Borussia Dortmund. But he quickly understood that the Premier League is a very different animal. It’s still unclear whether Cristiano Ronaldo’s arrival to the club has been intimidating for Sancho in any way.

There is more weight to the traumatic experience he had during the World Cup than playing alongside one of your childhood idols. For Sancho, not getting the trust he deserved during the Euros was one of the main reasons he hasn’t lived up to the expectations. However, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer doesn’t seem worried about Sancho eventually delivering results. He is grateful for the effort laid by the youngster and considers him essential in the team’s chances to fight for titles this season.

Sancho needs to let loose at Manchester United.

There is also the so-called “stage fright” that tends to overtake some players or artists in any walk of life. Jadon Sancho’s case is no different if you look at it from a certain angle that pins him against other great players at the club. It’s not just Ronaldo the one who intimidates him, there is also a lot of different players who compete against him. Just to mention some players: Mason Greenwood, Paul Pogba, Bruno Fernandes, Marcus Rashford, or Edinson Cavani.

This is a wildly star-studded team that could overwhelm any young star coming from the outside. But Ole trusts Sancho can find his footing eventually as he told the Daily Star: “I can’t complain about the effort. It has something to do with the rhythm. The confidence. Their best form isn’t there, as they haven’t played much. Good for them to get time, but we didn’t get the result. So like I said, there was a bit lacking in terms of quality, but not in terms of effort.”
