Paul Pogba’s future at Manchester United remains uncertain but Ole Solskjaer has given a major update on the Frenchman.

Despite claims that Paul Pogba could leave Manchester United, Ole Solskjaer believes the club winning silverware could convince the Frenchman to stay out at Old Trafford.

Since making a return to United in the 2016/17 season, the 27-year-old has only lifted two trophies. He was part of the squad that won the League Cup and the Europa League under Jose Mourinho.

However, injuries and inconsistency have plagued Pogba since then and he has failed to leave up to the then world-record fee United coughed out for his signature.

The Frenchman has publicly spoken about his love for Real Madrid on different occasions and there was a recent twist to that. The player’s agent, Mino Raiola recently claimed the player ‘would’ depart United next summer.

Since then, Pogba has struggled for first team minutes under Ole Solskjaer.

The Norwegian has also hit back at Raiola of late and maintains that the 27-year-old fully has his heart at United.

The Red Devils are yet to win any silverware since Solskjaer took over at the club in 2018. The 47-year-old believes a change in those fortunes could do well to help Pogba remain at the club.

“It’s always a demand here at Man Utd to win trophies, and the more we win trophies, the more players will want to play for us,” Solskjaer told ESPN.

“Then, the higher standard you’ve got to set yourselves.”

“It’s a demand for the players, it’s a challenge for the players that we want them to improve and get better and better.”

Solskjaer also commented on continuous rumors that Pogba is set to depart the club.

“Paul has been here now for a while and of course he wants to win more trophies, and he’s got a very, very good attitude to training and playing football.”

“He loves football, he’s ambitious, he wants to have success like most of the others that are in the squad.”

“We’re not all the same, but I would say that this squad has impressed me with their attitude and spirit lately and the way they go about their work.

“Of course, it’s down to us to win trophies then let’s see who will be part of the team going forward.”
