Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had to come out and defend Bruno Fernandes after airing his frustrations at Manchester United in recent days.

Bruno Fernandes is a natural-born winner who wants to win all the titles he can at Man United. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer can learn to recognize this type of personality due to the many players he’s shared the locker room with. When he was still a player, Ole played alongside some of the most competitive footballers of the era. He won the treble in 1999 next to stars such as David Beckham or Ryan Giggs.

Later in his career, he shared the dressing room with none other than Cristiano Ronaldo. Obviously, looking at Bruno Fernandes’ drive to always win is bringing back memories. Manchester United players who don’t have that will to always win can learn from Fernandes’ passion for the sport. When asked about the frustrations his player is experiencing, Solskjaer can completely understand where Bruno is coming from.

Solskjaer hopes his squad can respond to Bruno’s demands.

During a press conference ahead of United’s Carabao Cup match against Everton, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer recognized Fernandes’ will to win. He also acknowledged that his players want to win silverware and he recognized what they need in order to accomplish that: “Of course it’s something we’re aiming for,” he said via The Mirror. “We want to improve every season and to improve on last year is to get to the final. Of course, when you get to a final, there’s only one thing that matters and that’s lifting the trophy.

“I remember winning my first trophy and towards the end of my career, I think Patrice Evra and Nemanja Vidic’s first trophy was the League Cup in 2006. It does give something to a team. We are desperate to get our hands on a trophy. These players are desperate to learn how to win.”
