The prodigal son has returned to the Theatre of Dreams, and he is keen to carry on his tradition of striving for success.

Cristiano Ronaldo insists completing a sensational comeback to Manchester United is the “best decision that he’s made.”

Ronaldo initially joined Manchester United back in 2003 from Sporting Lisbon.

In the next six years thereafter, he developed into one of the world’s very best, scoring 118 goals in 292 appearances, leading the club to multiple Premier League titles and a Champions League trophy, and winning the first of his five Ballon d’Or awards.

The Portuguese had successful spells at Real Madrid and Juventus after leaving the club on a then world-record transfer. After a 12-year gap and cementing his legacy as one of the greatest in the history of the game, he is “back home.”

Ronaldo told the club media: “Well, as you know, I have a fantastic history with this amazing club.

“I was there at 18 years old and of course I’m so happy to be back home after 12 years. So I’m really glad and looking forward to start my first game.

Asked about his feeling about the reunion, Ronaldo responded: “I think it’s the best decision that I have made it.

“It’s right on point in my opinion. I moved from Juve now to Manchester, it’s a new chapter, I’m so happy and glad, and I want to carry on again, to make history, to try to help Manchester achieve great results, to win trophies and number one of them, to win great things.”
