In an interview with France Football, Sir Alex Ferguson took some time to analyze the Dream Team of players chosen by the prestigious magazine.
Sir Alex Ferguson has to be one of the most authorized voices to speak about France Football’s Dream Team that was just revealed to the world. The Scottish manager is widely considered the most successful manager in football history. He is also regarded as one of the wisest men in football, which is why his opinion is very important.
Although he doesn’t agree with the list of players presented by the magazine, he still likes the final product. In an interview for the publication’s website, Sir Alex analyzed the picks and revealed which football club he saw as the strongest ever.
Ferguson is still in awe of Pep Guardiola’s Barcelona.
During the interview with France Football, Sir Alex joked about who is taking the penalties from all the players chosen for the Dream Team. He also picked the player he would add to the list but refused to say who he would like to take out.
“I wonder who is taking the penalties?” joked Ferguson to France Football. “For me, I think there’s another centre-back missing. My problem is that I don’t know who I would take out in order to make space for another defender. Personally, I would’ve used Daniel Passarella. He was a fantastic player, he moved well and he was quite aggressive.
“I think he would’ve been a great compliment for Beckenbauer in the back of the defense. Also, the team that impressed me the most was the Barcelona we faced at Wembley with Manchester United in the 2011 Champions League final. They were unplayable.”
