Real Madrid smashed Sheriff as they avenged their last month’s shock defeat against the Moldavian side.

Real Madrid defeated Sheriff Tiraspol in their Champions League game on Wednesday. The Blancos continue to lead Group D of the competition as they maintain consistency with their great form.

Miracles don’t happen twice!

Real Madrid suffered a shock 2-1 defeat against Sheriff at Santiago Bernabeu last month. The Blancos came to Moldavia with the clear idea of making up for the defeat, and they did exactly that.

David Alaba opened the scoring for Real Madrid with a free kick in the 30th minute. The Blancos doubled their lead when Toni Kroos found the back of the net in the extra time of the first half.

Real Madrid continued their attacks in the second half, and soon extended their lead. Karim Benzema scored his fifth Champions League goal of the season five minutes before the hour-mark to make it 3-0.

Real Madrid remain on top of the Group D table with 12 points from their five matches. On the other hand, Sheriff secure their spot in the Europa League as they remain five points clear of Shakhtar.
