Sheffield United have beaten competition from fellow Premier League sides to secure the signature of Liverpool youngster Rhian Brewster.

Sheffield United are set to complete the signing of Liverpool youngster Rhian Brewster in a permanent deal.

The deal will cost a total of £23.5m and includes a buy-back option for three years. Liverpool will also get 15% of any sell-on fee, as reported by The Athletic.

With a place in Liverpool’s attack difficult to come by with Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino, and Sadio Mane regular starters, Jurgen Klopp has sanctioned the exit for Brewster.

The youngster helped England win the Under-17 World Cup in 2017 and scored 11 goals in 22 appearances while on loan at Swansea City last season.

For Sheffield United, the need to bring in a striker was more than evident. The Blades are yet to score in three Premier League games this season and are 19th in the table.

Fellow Premier League sides Crystal Palace and Aston Villa were also keen on the 20-year-old but it was Sheffield who won the race.

Brewster is expected to complete his move from Liverpool between the next 24 hours.
