A goal from Curtis Jones and an own goal from Bryan saw Liverpool return to winning ways with a 2-0 victory over Sheffield United.

Liverpool can finally breathe a sigh of relief after claiming a victory in the Premier League after quite some time.

The Reds brought their four-game domestic losing streak to an end as they deservedly beat Sheffield United at Bramall Lane.

Sheffield had Aaron Ramsdale to thank for keeping them in the game early on. The goalkeeper made five first-half saves, including two in as many minutes to deny Mohamed Salah and Georginio Wijnaldum.

Liverpool finally found a way past Ramsdale just at the start of the second half. Trent Alexander-Arnold’s cross fell invitingly for Jones to fire home his second Premier League goal.

Oliver McBurnie then missed a great chance to level matters and was made to rue that miss not long after.

Roberto Firmino breezed through the Sheffield defense and hit a shot that deflected in off Kean Bryan for an own goal.

Mohamed Salah could have added one more for his side but missed an open goal from a tight angle late on.

With the victory, Liverpool move a point behind fifth-placed Chelsea, their next opponents on Thursday.
