Let’s take a look at the Premier League Player Ratings from the showdown between Sheffield United and Manchester City.

Kyle Walker capped off his 100th Premier League outing for Manchester City in style with a long-range screamer against his boyhood side Sheffield United.

The match-winning goal occurred before the half-hour mark, with Raheem Sterling dinking past the opposition on the left-hand side before feeding the ball to Joao Cancelo. The full-back found Kevin De Bruyne, who in turn picked out Walker to slam the ball in from outside the box.

The 30-year-old right-back’s hit may have took a slight deflection, but it was enough to slip past the outstretched hand of Aaron Ramsdale.

It was a deserved goal for City, who dominated proceedings at Bramall Lane. Had it not been for Ramsdale’s brilliance and John Egan, the scoreline could’ve been greater – especially in the first half of the match.

Ramsdale, in particular, was probably the most impressive player for Sheffield United. The goalkeeper pulled off excellent saves from Ferran Torres and Riyad Mahrez to keep the hosts’ hopes alive right until the end.

While City’s dominance faded as the second half took place, with Chris Wilder’s side emerging a stronger unit. But they lacked a finishing touch in the end, with substitute John Lundstram missing their best chance by hitting the ball over the crossbar in the 70th-minute.

Pep Guardiola’s side, therefore, held on for a narrow 1-0 victory that has moved them back into the top-10 spots in the Premier League table. They’re also unbeaten in their last seven games in all competitions.

As for Sheffield United though, they remain winless after seven games and second-bottom in the league standings with just a point to their name.
