The Ukrainian club collaborated with UEFA, UAF, and the FMF to evacuate
12 players away after Russia launched a full-scale invasion in Ukraine.
Shakhtar Donetsk have evacuated their Brazilian footballers to Romania following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
Thanks to assistance from UEFA, the Ukrainian Football Association (UAF), and the Moldovan Football Federation (FMF) presidents, Shakhtar successfully moved the players away from the conflict.
Joining the Brazilian players were their families, who traveled with them from Kyiv to Romania.

“The evacuation of the players was made possible thanks to the personal assistance of the UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin, the Ukrainian Football Association President Andrii Pavelko and the Moldovan Football Federation President Leonid Oleinichenko. We want to thank for the assistance to everyone who took part in this process,” read a club statement.
Shakhtar also reported that Dynamo Kyiv and SK Dnipro-1 have moved their foreign players away from Ukraine.
The Miners sit at the top of the Ukraine Premier League table. They haven’t played, though, since December 11, because a winter break occurred before the Russian invasion caused football to be suspended in Ukraine.
