It will be nail-biting action when Sevilla and Inter Milan go head to head for the trophy in the final of the Europa League.

Sevilla are aiming to lift their record sixth Europa League trophy. Inter Milan, on the other hand, are in search for their first silverware since 2011. But only the wish of one of two silverware seekers will be fulfilled as the two teams prepare to take on each other in the Europa League final.

While Sevilla have a great pedigree in this competition, Inter are also aware what the winning celebrations feel like in this tournament, having won it on three previous occasions – 1991, 1994, and 1998.

Sevilla have had a relatively tougher road to the finals as they had to overcome AS Roma, Wolves, and Manchester United in the knockout rounds.

Inter, on the other hand, were tasked with playing Getafe, Bayer Leverkusen, and Shakhtar Donetsk before reaching this stage.

Form:

Sevilla remain undefeated since returning from the coronavirus enforced break, winning nine and drawing five of their 14 matches across all competitions.

A solid defensive structure has been key for their form. Since the continental restart, they have let in only one goal, that too from a penalty kick against Manchester United.

Inter will hope that their deadly attack can break open their upcoming opponents’ stubborn defense. Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez are in scintillating form, with both having scored twice in the last match.

The Italian side are also in fine form overall, having not tasted defeat in their last 11 matches across all competitions.

Team News:

Lucas Ocampos limped off the field during the last match which could be worrying for Sevilla. However, he is expected to be fully fit for Friday night’s clash.

Antonio Conte will probably be less happy of the managers heading into the match. Matias Vecino is out due to knee injury while Alexis Sanchez’s thigh issue makes his involvement doubtful.

Head to Head:

Inter and Sevilla have never faced each other in any competition before. However, both teams have plenty of experience playing against Spanish and Italian opposition in European competition.
