They followed their humiliating defeat against Inter with a well-deserved draw against in-form Sassuolo on Saturday. Their opponents went 2-1 ahead in the first half.
However, when Sassuolo went a man down just before the hour-mark, the newly-promoted side took them under enough pressure to snatch the equalizer.
The draw can ignite a major boost in Salernitana’s morale. It will be interesting to see if they can cause problems for Juve in their next league game.
Can Spezia end their Serie A free-fall?
Spezia suffered four consecutive defeats before beating Cagliari 2-0 this weekend. They are still stuck in 15th place on the league table. However, goals from Martin Erlic and Rey Manaj managed to temporarily stop their quick fall toward the relegation zone.
The victory came against Cagliari, who had shown slid attacking performances in recent weeks. Spezia must keep up their defensive integrity in the upcoming weeks if they want to survive relegation.
