After his turbulent exit from Real Madrid, we need to talk about Sergio Ramos’ real options to play by the start of next season.

Before getting injured at Real Madrid, Sergio Ramos was still one of the Top 3 centre-backs in the world. His previous season was extremely unfortunate as he became one of the club’s players with the least activity on the pitch. If you add his troublesome contract negotiation to this bad luck, you get a player who could be considered a has-been. But some of the biggest clubs in the world would make a huge mistake if they don’t go after Sergio Ramos.

There are currently a number of options for the Spanish defender that are very real for him. We already told you about Chelsea and PSG’s actual interest in signing the player. But Jose Mourinho’s AS Roma is also trying to convince the player to move to Italian football. However, the issue there is strictly related to the low wage he would get if he moves to Serie A. Unless one of those clubs offers him at least €10 million per season, Sergio isn’t going there. We still have the Bundesliga, the Premier League, and Ligue 1 as possible options for Ramos.

What about Manchester City?

There was an initial hype surrounding the idea of Sergio Ramos playing under Pep Guardiola at Manchester City. But the club responded to rumors by stating they have many great defenders at the moment and Sergio is not part of their plans. This leaves only the Blues and PSG as the real options for him to continue his career at the highest level. Currently, both sides are great prospects but we still need to wait a few days in order to find out what Sergio decides.

Playing next to Neymar is one of the defender’s desires, as he’s told the press before. Going to the reigning European champion in order to defend the title is an assignment that comes easy for the star from Camas. Certainly, Ramos is not ready to play at a less prestigious club because he still has something to prove. Where would be the ideal place for him to continue his professional career?
