Ramos scored a crucial header to help Real Madrid secure their tenth Champions League title.

Sergio Ramos has picked his last-minute goal against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League final as his “most important” goal.

Ramos was a key figure in Real Madrid’s backline during their successful Champions League run in the 2010s. But the Spaniard also scored a host of memorable goals in the competition.

The Blancos were in the hunt to secure their first Champions League title in 12 years when they faced Atletico Madrid in the competition’s final in 24 May 2014.

Diogo Godin’s 36th-minute goal put Atletico ahead, with Diego Simeone’s side then defending their lead until the last minute. But a precise header from Ramos in the 93rd minute turned the game around.

Real Madrid then won the trophy by scoring three more goals through Gareth Bale, Marcelo, and Cristiano Ronaldo in the extra time.

On the ninth anniversary of his unforgettable goal, Ramos retweeted Real Madrid’s post from the game.

Ramos went on to claim three more UCL titles with Real Madrid, establishing his reputation as one of the competition’s most successful defenders.
