The former Barcelona and Manchester City striker retired from the game in December, aged 33.

Sergio Aguero has revealed that his heart condition has left him wondering if he’ll ever sprint again.

The 33-year-old Argentinian hung up his boots in December after doctors diagnosed him with a cardiac arrhythmia – an irregular heartbeat – upon being admitted to hospital with chest pain on October 30.

Speaking openly about his condition on Twitch, Aguero opened up on how he feels in his current state.

“If I try to play football now, I run out of breath,” he said.

“Sometimes I wonder if I will ever be able to sprint again. I just feel like my heart doesn’t work properly.”

Aguero joined Barcelona last summer, scoring one goal in five appearances before his sudden retirement.

The striker also played for Manchester City in the Premier League. He became the club’s record scorer on 260 goals in 390 games while adding 73 assists to his tally in the process. He won five Premier League titles, six EFL Cups, and the FA Cup at the Etihad Stadium.

On the international scene, Aguero won 101 caps for Argentina and scored 41 times.
