Serbia received Scotland’s visit in a crucial EURO 2021 Qualifier on Thursday, we bring you this important game’s player ratings.

Another dramatic European evening ended with Scotland against Serbia in a wild night for both sides. The Eastern European side got a visit from the Tartan Army for the final match. A game that decided which of both squads was getting the final ticket to the EURO 2021.

Hungary, North Macedonia, and Slovakia got the other three spots left. But Scotland took this game to the extreme after going all the way to penalty shootouts that nearly got them kicked out of the tournament. The first half gave us a brilliant solo performance from Ryan Christie. The midfielder from the Highlands scored the initial goal from a long distance.

A shot straight into the bottom corner that filled Scotland with the hope of going to next summer’s delayed tournament. They played a better game than Serbia did throughout 90 minutes, but the locals made proper modifications near the final whistle.

Jovic’s equalizer and Marshall’s heroics.

The decisive moments of the game didn’t come until the end of regular time through Luka Jovic. Real Madrid’s estranged striker came on during the second half to score a late equalizer that gave Serbia a chance to win the game during extra time. But the Scots were better organized on their defense. They didn’t allow this result to slip through their fingers and we went all the way to penalty shots.

No player from the Scottish side missed a single shot. Serbia scored the first four and it was all down to Mitrovic in the last penalty. Marshall spoke to Mateu Lahoz about keeping his feet on the line before the shot was taken and saved a weak shot from Aleksandar. Although it took them a short while to make the call. The save was good and Scotland got their ticket to the 2021 European Championship. Better luck next time for Serbia.
