There have been transfer rumors claiming Haller could follow his Ajax boss Ten Hag to Old Trafford.

Ajax striker Sebastien Haller has ruled out a summer transfer to Manchester United.

Reports have linked several Ajax players with a move to Old Trafford after the club’s manager Erik ten Hag agreed to take charge of United for next season on an initial three-year contract.

One player frequently mention is Haller. The Ivorian, of course, has experience in the Premier League, having played for West Ham between 2019 and 2021. He also boasts a stellar record under Ten Hag. In 64 games for Ajax, he has supplied 46 goals and 16 assists in all competitions.

‘I won’t follow Ten Hag’

But while Haller has confirmed interest from other clubs, he has ruled out following Ten Hag to Manchester.

“Of course, there is interest from clubs. But I always say: interest is something different than an offer and a transfer is something else,” Haller told NOS.

Pressed on the possibility of following Ten Hag to United, he added: “No, I won’t follow him. I feel good here at the club and in the city.”

The Ivory Coast international joined Ajax in January 2021 from West Ham for a €22.5 million transfer fee. He has another three years left on his contract with the Dutch league leaders.

Ajax will hope Haller brings his A-game on Wednesday for a potential title-deciding league match against Heerenveen. At the time of writing, Bet365 has backed Ten Hag’s side as the overwhelming favorite. A home win returns odds of 1.12, suggesting the hosts have an 89% chance of beating Heerenveen.
