Manchester United’s top scorer for this season has revealed what the dressing room is like under manager Erik ten Hag.
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has the full support of the players, according to Scott McTominay.
On the eve of a decisive Champions League match against Bayern Munich, McTominay has vouched for Ten Hag. The midfielder has recognized that the team had a ‘toxic’ atmosphere in the past. Yet, since their Dutch manager took charge last year, things have improved in that respect.
“We have had many amazing players,” McTominay said at a pre-match press conference on Monday.
“Right now we are at the stage where we have big characters in the dressing room.
“It is not just a case like some of the other managers where it has been a little bit toxic at times, the boys are firmly behind the manager.
“I have said that in many other interviews and that is the way it will stay. We have got an amazing coaching staff as well so it can get lost in translation with what the players think and what is said behind closed doors, we just want to do well for the football club.”
On Tuesday, United will be on a mission to steal a spot in the round of 16 of the Champions League. Their path to victory starts with a must-win game against Bayern at Old Trafford. But that’s not all – they also need Lady Luck to smile upon them with a draw between FC Copenhagen and Galatasaray.
As things stand, United sit bottom of the Group A table with four points from five games. They trail Copenhagen and Galatasaray by one point, while Bayern are out of touch on 13 points as the group winners.
