Leroy Sane exchanged Manchester for Bavaria, linking up with the European champions after the Citizens surrendered their Premier League title.

Manchester City spent heavily for the services of a 20-year-old Leroy Sane. The €52 million price tag seemed minuscule given his performances at the Etihad for three-years. He suffered an ACL injury in Community Shield, which ended his season on the Premier League curtain-raiser.

Bayern Munich connived openly and managed to prize him away. After establishing himself in the world arena, Sane left Manchester City for less than what he cost them. The Bavarians paid €45 million for his services.

Despite the relatively low price-tag, the pressure will be on him to deliver. Mehmet Scholl does not have any questions about his ability but believes the Red shirt takes its toll on players.

“FC Bayern is a special club, there are special conditions,” Goal quoted Mehmet..

“It’s a different level, a different pressure. You have to be careful as a young player.

“If you appear with a certain arrogance, it will be difficult.”

Sane made his return to competitive football in Germany’s crunch Nations League encounter with Spain. Scholl was pleased to see him in action but believes he is yet to reach peak fitness.

“A bit of body language and posture are still missing. You have to give him the time to integrate with Bayern,” Scholl added.

“Then he can become a really big guy. The basic DNA can be enough for world-class.”

Scholl knows what he is talking about, spending 15 years at the Allinz Arena from 1992 to 2007. He made 469 appearances during his reign.
