Schalke held their arch-rivals to a draw, keeping them behind Bayern Munich at the top of the Bundesliga table.

Borussia Dortmund drew 2-2 with Schalke 04 in their Bundesliga game on Saturday. Edin Terzic’s men failed to bounce back from their Champions League defeat against Chelsea.

Bayern go two points clear!

Dortmund made a fantastic start to the game, dominating the possession early on. However, they had to wait until the 38th minute to break the deadlock.

Nico Schlotterbeck converted an assist from Raphael Guerreiro to put the visitors ahead. But Schalke looked much better offensively as soon as the second half started.

The Royal Blues scored the equalizer only five minutes after the break. But Dortmund bounced back to restore their lead through Guerreiro only ten minutes later.

The Portuguese star latched onto the ball inside the box before unleashing a powerful strike into the upper-right corner of the net.

The goal forced Schalke to go all-in with their attacks in the final 20 minutes. The hosts made four changes, bringing in the likes of Tobias Mohr and Simon Terodde.

Schalke finally got what they were looking for when Kenan Karaman made it 2-2 in the 79th minute.

The late equalizer saw Dortmund increase their pressure toward the end of the game. But it was already too late for them to change the result.

Dortmund slips two points behind Bayern at the top of the Bundesliga table. The league leaders defeated Augsburg earlier today.
