Schalke 04 faced Borussia Dortmund at the Veltins-Arena in Gelsenkirchen this Saturday afternoon. We have the player ratings.

Borussia Dortmund trashed their local rivals Schalke 04 with a tremendous 4-0 win away from home. The Yellow and Blacks bagged their first Bundesliga victory of the month in great style with goals from Sancho, Guerreiro, and Haaland.

Although Schalke managed to keep Dortmund from scoring for the majority of the first half, it all went downhill quite quickly for the Royal Blues. Stambouli played around in a forbidden area and lost possession near the penalty box. Jadon Sancho didn’t think twice and smashed it into the net to put Dortmund in the lead.

Just three minutes later, Sancho showed his brilliance once more as he set up Haaland for the best moment of the night. The Norwegian sensation took advantage of Oczipka’s lack of pressing and tuned into an Ibrahimovic lookalike with an acrobatic strike.

Schalke didn’t stand a chance against their local rivals.

Although The Royal Blues improved a bit after the break, their defense continued to compromise the rest of the team. Dortmund, on the other hand, never took the foot off the accelerator and kept pushing forward. In fact, the Yellow and Blacks netted their third goal after a wonderful link-up between Reus and Guerreiro. The Portuguese international showed what a good left-back is capable of and scored with his right foot.

Although that could’ve been it for Terzic’s side, there was room left for one more. In fact, this goal was built in a play featuring three players with a combined age of 57, which has to be close to a new record. 20-year-old Sancho flicked the ball to 17-year-old Bellingham. The English midfielder then crossed the ball to another 20-year-old: authentic goal-machine Erling Haaland. It’s safe to say that BVB‘s future is looking big and bright.
