Manchester City make English record bid for Grealish
The Citizens have launched a £100 million offer for Jack Grealish. If the deal goes through, it will eclipse the £89m Manchester United paid for Paul Pogba in 2016 as the Premier League’s most expensive transfer in history.
Pep Guardiola has made signing Grealish a priority for this summer. The Manchester City coach rates the 25-year-old highly and feels he can add an extra dimension to his attack. He may allow Bernardo Silva to leave if the Aston Villa captain heads to the Etihad Stadium.
City are confident a deal can be done. Grealish will report back to Villa on Monday for pre-season training, suggesting the whole transfer saga could be resolved by next week [Telegraph]
Neuhaus out of Liverpool’s price range
Florian Neuhaus is a wanted man these days. The 24-year-old midfielder’s reputation has soared at Borussia Monchengladbach recently and he was almost an ever-present figure in the club’s qualification for the Champions League knockout stages last season.
But a move away from Borussia Park looks unlikely. Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp may be keen on Neuhaus, but the Reds cannot match Gladbach’s €40 million (£34m) asking price. [Sport1 – in German]

Gunners boss Mikel Arteta regards Xhaka as an important part of his plans for the new season. Roma, meanwhile, have failed to make a suitable offer for the 28-year-old. [The Athletic]
West Ham target Chelsea’s Zouma
Kurt Zouma could be on his way out of Stamford Bridge soon. First Chelsea offered him to Sevilla as part of a player-plus-cash transfer deal for Jules Kounde. Now West Ham have thrown their hat in the ring.
Hammers boss David Moyes believes Zouma could help bolster his defense as the club prepare for European football. He also wants a new full-back and just signed Alphonse Areola on a loan-to-buy deal from Paris Saint-Germain.
Zouma, who fell out of favor under Thomas Tuchel last season, has two years left on his Chelsea contract. [Telegraph]
