Koulibaly remains a target for Liverpool

Liverpool are set to bring in defensive reinforcements following injuries to Virgil van Dijk and Fabinho. The former is out with a long-term knee injury, while the latter is unavailable for this weekend at least.

The Reds, therefore, could make an attempt to sign long-term target Kalidou Koulibaly. The 29-year-old has refused to rule out a departure from Napoli. [Daily Star]

Barcelona to renew interest in Garcia

Despite Pep Guardiola confirming Eric Garcia refused a contract offer, Manchester City didn’t sell the center-back despite his current deal expiring next year. Thus, he can leave for free in the next summer transfer window.

Barcelona hoped to bring the former La Masia graduate back to Camp Nou for this season. But the club’s deadline day offer was €2m short of City’s asking price, ending their pursuit of Garcia. They’re now plotting a renewed attempt in January. [ESPN]
