The Rossoneri smashed Sassuolo in their final game of the season to win the Serie A.
AC Milan defeated Sassuolo 3-0 to win their 19th Serie A title. A brilliant display in the first half helped Rossoneri complete their title-winning run.
Milan are BACK!
Milan came into the game being two points ahead of Inter on the league table.
The Rossoneri started the game by taking complete control of the possession while the hosts tried to hurt them on the counter-attacks.
Following a few half-chances, Olivier Giroud scored the opener for the guests in the 17th minute. The former Chelsea star went on to double Milan’s lead by converting a perfect cutback from Rafael Leao only 15 minutes later.
Sassuolo’s defence looked completely shattered after Giroud’s second goal while the guests kept attacking.
It took Leao only four minutes to register his next assist. This time, Franck Kessie smashed Leao’s cutback into the back of the net, making it 3-0 for Milan in his last match for the Rossoneri.
Milan retained their control over the game throughout the second period despite Sassuolo’s attempts to find a breakthrough.
The 3-0 win secured Milan’s first Serie A title since the 2010-11 season. After years of struggling for sporting and financial consistency, the Rossoneri celebrate their return to Serie A elite.
