Ahead of the second leg Europa League semi-final clash, Cazorla warned Arsenal of a dangerous player in Villarreal’s ranks.

Santi Cazorla has warned Arsenal of the danger Gerard Moreno poses to them in this week’s Europa League semi-final showdown.

The Gunners crashed to a 2-1 first-leg defeat in Spain last week following strikes from Villarreal duo Manu Trigueros and Raul Albiol. However, Nicolas Pepe scored a vital away goal from a penalty.

The Ivorian’s spot-kick handed Arsenal a lifeline for the second leg this Thursday at the Emirates Stadium.

But Cazorla believes Moreno, who assisted Albiol’s goal in the first-leg, must be kept a close watch on.

“He is the best forward in Spain right now,” the former Arsenal and Villarreal midfielder told UEFA on Moreno.

“I’m not saying that just because of the goals he scores. You shouldn’t just look at what he does in the box and the goals he scores for Villarreal, but also what he does outside the box.

“He’s a player who makes a difference, doesn’t need a lot of chances to score goals, and he’s at a point of his career where he’s full of confidence and at his peak, which is ideal in terms of the team being able to achieve its objectives.

“He’s a chilled-out guy, he works hard, and he brings a lot to the dressing room as well.”

Cazorla also gave his views on the job former teammate Mikel Arteta has done as Arsenal manager.
