A move back to England has not provided Sancho with enough game time to activate his full potential at Old Trafford.

Jadon Sancho ended his long-running transfer saga by joining Manchester United on a £86m in the summer.

The England winger has struggled to secure his place in the Red Devils lineup amid heavy competition in the squad. Sancho usually comes in late, with Cristiano Ronaldo barely letting anyone else steal the headlines at Man United.

Bayern Munich legend Lothar Matthaus believes Sancho is still far away from being a starter at Man United.

He told Sky Sports“You see the players who are playing in Man United; you have Rashford, Ronaldo, this means you have two from three then you have another four players who can play in this certain position.

“One of these players is Sancho. I don’t know how he trains in Man United, he has to work very hard to make this step in the first XI. Now, he’s far away from the first XI.

“When I see how many minutes he was playing this season or which game he was playing then I think it was a mistake [to join Man United] he has more money but he has less games.”
