Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho left an indelible mark in their 1-0 win over Paris Saint-Germain, stated coach Edin Terzic.

Sancho, on loan from Manchester United, displayed his prowess in Dortmund’s Champions League semifinal first-leg victory. Terzic highlighted Sancho’s exceptional performance, noting his quality in training and crucial role against PSG.

Despite not scoring, the 24-year-old winger dominated the right wing with his trademark footwork and passing, reminiscent of his initial stint at Signal Iduna Stadium and his high-profile move to Manchester United in 2021.

Reflecting on his return to Dortmund, Sancho expressed gratitude for the opportunity to play professional football at the club where he began his career at 17. Regarding his future, he remained focused on the present, leaving speculation about his permanent stay unanswered.

Dortmund secured a slim lead thanks to Niclas Füllkrug’s first-half goal, with Sancho instrumental in creating opportunities throughout the match. While PSG threatened with efforts from Kylian Mbappé and Achraf Hakimi hitting the post, Dortmund maintained their advantage with solid defensive displays and missed chances in the second half.

Terzic praised Dortmund’s collective effort, acknowledging the significance of the narrow victory and anticipating a tougher challenge in the second leg in Paris. He emphasized the need to maintain focus and resilience against PSG’s formidable attack in front of their home crowd.

With the tie finely poised, Dortmund heads to Paris with cautious optimism, knowing that their performance in the return leg will determine their fate in the Champions League final.
