Harold Moukoudi is more than confident that it is only a matter of time before William Saliba proves his worth in his new team.

Arsenal shed close to €30 million in July last year to make William Saliba, a promising center-back, one of their own.

With the defender still raw, the Gunners decided it would be best for his development if the then 18-year old remained in his natural environment for some more time. Hence, he was allowed to stay at Saint-Etienne on loan for the 2019/20 season.

The Premier League side made another failed attempted to send him back to his former club on a temporary basis after the Frenchman returned from his loan spell over the summer.

An abundance of options at the back means Saliba is yet to play a single minute at the senior level in an Arsenal shirt and had to resort to minutes with the U23 team.

As he eagerly awaits action with the first-team, Saliba’s former colleague has urged him not to lose hope and keep fighting for his place.

“I told him not to worry and to keep working. It will pay off,” Saint-Etienne defender Harold Moukoudi told ButFootballClub. “With the qualities he has, I am sure he will bounce back.

“He has enormous potential, no one can deny that. He has to hang on, take his situation patiently, but he will succeed. It’s certain.”
