Reports in Saudi Arabia recently tipped Mohamed Salah to become the next big-name target for the Middle Eastern nation.
Despite speculation of a big-money move to Saudi Arabia, Mohamed Salah has no plan to leave Liverpool, according to his agent, Ramy Abbas.
Al Riyadiah, a Saudi newspaper, had claimed that Al-Ittihad made an approach. The 2022/23 Saudi Pro League champions offered Salah an alleged two-year contract worth a whopping €180 million (£155m).
However, Salah’s agent has put such rumors to rest on Twitter, stating the Egyptian will honor the Liverpool contract he signed in the previous summer.
Salah’s current deal at Anfield, the one he signed last year, runs until June 2025. The 28-year-old has been a key player for Liverpool since his arrival from AS Roma in 2017. In 305 appearances across all competitions, he has supplied 186 goals and 79 assists.
The fact their star attacker will stay put will be a boost for Liverpool. The Reds have seen three of their players move to Saudi Arabia this summer. Roberto Firmino was the first to go on a free transfer to Al Ahli. Jordan Henderson, the club’s former captain, followed suit in a €14 million switch to Al-Ettifaq. Fabinho is the most recent departure, having joined Al-Ittihad last week for €46.7 million.
If we considered leaving LFC this year, we wouldn’t have renewed the contract last summer. Mohamed remains committed to LFC.
