Liverpool look to close the gap to league leaders Manchester City as they take on the in-form Gunners.

Jurgen Klopp has announced his lineup for Liverpool’s upcoming game against Arsenal with a shocking twist in his selections.

Mohamed Salah will not start against the Gunners, with the German boss using Diego Jota alongside Luis Diaz and Sadio Mane in his three-man attacking unit.

Alisson will start between the posts with Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joel Matip, Virgil Van Dijk, and Andy Robertson forming the Reds’ familiar backline.

In midfield, Fabinho will have to play alongside Jordan Henderson and Thiago, who returned to Liverpool’s starting XI against Inter last week.

A victory at the Emirates Stadium can close the gap between Liverpool and Manchester City to one point at the top of the table.

The Reds are on an impressive eight-game winning streak, showing great attacking form in their recent games. However, several observers have suggested Salah’s contract situation might influence the Reds’ results in this crucial period of the campaign.

Speaking in a pre-match press conference, Klopp insisted Salah will stay committed to Liverpool until the end of the season.

“This season everyone is completely committed,” the German boss said.

“It is a clear commitment for the team for this season and then we’ll talk about the rest – future, immediate, further.

“Mo is not a guy for that, not at all. If I don’t line him up then his mood goes down. That is possible, but not against the team or whatever.”
