Salah is set to captain Egypt for the national team’s 25th appearance in the biennial African tournament.
The Pharaohs begin their AFCON campaign in Group D against Nigeria on January 11 at the Roumde Adjia Stadium in Garoua. They’ll then face Guinea-Bissau on January 15 and Sudan on January 19.
The North Africans, who have won the competition a record seven times, hope Salah and his teammates can lead them to a first title since 2010.
