The Senegalese star is on the verge of ending his six-year spell at Liverpool.

Liverpool have reportedly reached an agreement with Bayern Munich over the transfer of Sadio Mane.

The Senegal international informed the Reds of his intention to leave the club earlier this month. Despite interest from a few other clubs, it seems that Bayern are about to finalize a deal for the 30-year-old.

According to Sky Sports journalist Fabrizio Romano, Mane will join Bayern Munich on a permanent deal this summer.

The player has already completed his negotiations over personal terms with the Bavarians, planning to sign a three-year contract at Allianz Arena. Bayern will reportedly pay an initial fee of €32m for Mane, which can reach up to €40m with additional add-ons and bonuses.

Liverpool rejected Bayern’s first two offers for Mane, branding their first bid ‘unserious’. However, the Reds reportedly decided to accept Bayern’s final offer during the two clubs’ meeting on Friday.

Mane’s arrival will provide Bayern with a new option in their attacking line. The Bavarians are yet to extend the contract of Serge Gnabry, who will become a free agent next summer. The new transfer might persuade Bayern to sell Gnabry this summer to avoid a free departure.

On the other hand, Barcelona are keen to sign Robert Lewandowski, who has already confirmed he won’t sign a new deal at Bayern. It remains to be seen whether Bayern would decide to negotiate Gnabry and Lewandowski’s exits or they would want them to play alongside Mane next season.
