A report claims PSG have moved swiftly for Kalidou Koulibaly and could now beat Manchester City to the signing of the Napoli defender.

Manchester City have been linked with Koulibaly all summer but their reluctance to complete a deal could see them miss out on the defender.

After the arrival of Nathan Ake at the Etihad, Pep Guardiola was still keen on bringing in the Senegalese defender to add proper grit in his defense.

City’s pursuit of Koulibaly looked to have stalled lately due to a difference in price valuation between both clubs.

Asides that, Napoli president De Laurentiis also claimed City’s reluctance to speak to him directly have slowed down the potential of a deal happening.

While all of these were going on in the background, PSG were making a move to hijack the deal from the Premier League side.

Italian outlet Tuttosport claims PSG have offered €52m for Koulibaly, with an additional €7m in bonuses.

The newspaper claims Napoli owner Aurelio De Laurentiis waits to see if Manchester City will return to submit a better offer. If they don’t, the deal with the French giants could be concluded next week.

De Laurentiis has admitted the defender could leave this summer but only for the right amount.

Koulibaly has been linked with the Citizens and PSG in recent months and it now appears the Ligue 1 champions are in pole position for his signature.
