Messi is on a mission to track down the mole that leaked his contract and has shortlisted 5 FC Barcelona personnel he suspects.

Barcelona’s former president Josep Maria Bartomeu, former vice president Jordi Mestre, General Director Oscar Grau, head of legal services Roman Gomez Ponti, and interim president Carles Tusquets are all suspects.

The fallout from Lionel Messi’s contract leak is still going strong. The Argentine is understandably furious details of his lucrative contract are now public knowledge. And he plans to sue El Mundo for publishing them without his consent.

But while taking legal action against the Spanish newspaper is one thing, the more pressing issue is how his contract was obtained in the first place.

According to Catalan radio network RAC1, Messi has shortlisted five individuals as suspects: Bartomeu, Mestre, Grau, Gomez Ponti, and Tusquets.

These five men, all key figureheads at Barcelona in both past and present, had access to the contract. It’s apparently the first time Messi has formally named his suspects as the mole behind the leak.

Barcelona plan to launch an internal investigation into the matter and take legal action against El Mundo newspaper.

Although it should be noted, contrary to the latest rumors, that Bartomeu has already denied being the mole.

Blaugrana manager Ronald Koeman, meanwhile, has included Messi in his squad for the Copa del Rey quarter-final clash with Granada on Wednesday night.
