A report claims Manchester City have agreed personal terms with Kalidou Koulibaly ahead of a potential summer move.

Manchester City are one step closer to securing the services of Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly, reports claim.

Pep Guardiola is intent on bringing in defensive reinforcements after a poor showing at the back cost them the title to Liverpool.

City have already snapped up Nathan Ake from Bournemouth and the next on their list is Koulibaly.

The Citizens were linked to the Senegalese defender last summer but opted not to make a move for him.

According to Duncan Castles of the Transfer Window Podcast, City have all but agreed personal terms with Koulibaly.

However, there is still an issue of price valuation with Napoli. The Serie A side value the 29-year-old at €70m but City are only willing to pay €60m. So both sides will still have to find a common ground.

Also, the Premier League side are wary of doing business with Napoli. The Citizens reportedly agreed a deal for Jorginho two years ago but Napoli broke the agreement and sold him to Chelsea instead. The Blues offered more cash.

In relating news, Napoli are also closing in on a move for Lille’s Gabriel Gabriel Magalhaes which could clear the path for Koulibaly to be sold.
