Chelsea are reportedly close to selling Emerson Palmieri to Inter Milan. The defender has agreed personal terms with the Serie A side.

Emerson Palmieri could be heading back to Serie A this summer after reportedly agreeing on personal terms with Inter.

The left-back has struggled for game-time under Frank Lampard and is said to be seeking an exit from the club.

Chelsea are also in the hunt for a left-back this summer and it’s reported Lampard will look to overhaul his squad.

A number of the Blues’ stars are expected to leave the club this summer and Emerson could be one of those names.

Calciomercato claims there is already an agreement between the 26-year-old and Inter, who are managed by former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte.

Conte is familiar with Emerson and his abilities, having coached the left-back during his time at Stamford Bridge. The report also adds that the defender is happy to join Inter provided Conte will remain as manager next season.

The Italian defender is now expected to sign a five-year deal with Inter Milan. He will earn an annual salary of €2.4m.

The final hurdle is an agreement in player valuation between both clubs. Chelsea are asking for €25m but might be forced to accept the €20m plus potential bonuses offered by Inter.

Emerson only managed 21 appearances for Chelsea this season in all competitions.
