We let you in on a few little-known facts about Cristiano Ronaldo as the player turns 36 this Friday.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s 36 years of greatness have been authenticated through numerous awards, victories, and records. No one would dare question the Portuguese’s worth as a football player or his influence in the game. In fact, Ronaldo also influences millions of people all around the world outside of the pitch. There’s not a single CR7 fan who doesn’t want to know more about the superstar and we have some little-known facts for you to discover.

Ronaldo eats pizza once a week.

If you look at Cristiano’s impeccable psychical form, it’s easy to deduce that the Juve star only eats super healthy foods. However, even Ronaldo has a cheat day just like the rest of us. Dolores Aveiro, the superstar’s mother, recently confessed that she loves pineapple on pizza and that Ronaldo also enjoys the tasty dish once a week. If Cris can do it, so can we, right?

A teenage Cristiano was expelled from school.

It’s hard to imagine the Ronaldo we know as a rebellious teenager. However, the Portuguese struggled to keep his focus in classes and stated in the past that he was just not interested in his studies. Nevertheless, the incident that led to Cris’ expulsion had nothing to do with his academic struggles. In fact, Ronaldo was kicked out of school when he was 14 years old for throwing a chair at a teacher. Although the teenager’s actions were obviously wrong, a young Ronaldo insisted the teacher had disrespected him. The 14-year-old became aggressive after his teacher made fun of him and his family for being poor.

The 36-year-old follows the Feng Shui philosophy.

Feng Shui is an ancient Chinese practice that aims at creating harmony between individuals and their surroundings. According to Feng Shui specialist Vanda Boavida, Ronaldo follows the ancient philosophy to decide which items he should furnish his home with. The Portuguese forward often displays words and art about love, harmony, and personal worth.

Dolores Aveiro tried to terminate her pregnancy.

It’s crazy to think of a world where Cristiano Ronaldo doesn’t exist, right? Who would be Lionel Messi’s rival? Could Real Madrid ever have achieved ‘La Decima’? We’re glad we won’t ever find out. In her autobiography, Cristiano’s mother confessed that she had asked for an abortion when she was pregnant with the superstar. One year later, Dolores opened up on that time of her life in Ronaldo’s documentary film.

“He is a child that I wanted to abort,” she said. “God didn’t want that to happen and I was blessed because of that and God didn’t punish me.

“Sometimes Ronaldo makes fun of me and says: ‘You didn’t want me to be born. But now you see that I’m here helping all of you.’ And, well, sometimes we have a laugh about that.”

Cristiano Ronaldo has never scored a goal on his birthday.

Although the Portugal captain has hit the net many times during his career, he has never given himself a birthday present. However, this isn’t that unusual since Cris only played three matches on his special day. The first one was back in 2003 when the teenager was still at Sporting. On the day he officially became an adult, Ronaldo spent 30 minutes on the pitch for the Lions.

The second time Cristiano played on February 5th was two years later. In fact, the Manchester United man even bagged an assist against Birmingham that year. 20-year-old Ronaldo played a huge part in Roy Keane’s last goal for the Red Devils, giving the striker the ball with a cool backheel pass.

Finally, when he turned 29, a Merengue Cristiano played against Atletico for the Copa del Rey semifinals. However, CR7 didn’t hit the net at all and Real Madrid won with the help of two own goals from the Colchoneros.
