A former colleague of the Al-Nassr manager has given a less-than-friendly verdict on the man who will coach Ronaldo.

Al-Nassr manager Rudi Garcia is a ‘cold human being’ who will try to befriend a ‘legend’ like Cristiano Ronaldo and take advantage of it, according to Juninho Pernambucano.

Juninho was the sporting director of Lyon when Garcia coached the French club between 2019 and 2021. Allegedly, the duo had a poor relationship, with the former midfielder now launching a scathing review of the coach.

“He doesn’t know how to lead anything. He leads out of the fear he imposes on others. My experience with Rudi Garcia was terrible. He’s the worst character I’ve known in all my footballing career,” Juninho told MaisFutebol.

“He won’t dare to do anything obstructive.”

‘Garcia will even serve Cristiano his breakfast’

Garcia moved to Al-Nassr last July after spells at Lille, AS Roma, Marseille, and Lyon. He has won nine of his 12 games (D2 L1) in charge and welcomed Ronaldo to the team this week, describing the forward’s arrival as an ‘honor’.

“On the contrary, he will even serve Cristiano his breakfast if necessary,” Juninho added.

“He will try to be his friend and will do everything possible for that. It will be his dream to be Cristiano Ronaldo’s friend.

“Rudi Garcia doesn’t care about the team’s success or dressing room harmony. What matters to him is that he’s the center of attention, whatever the crisis. But like all cold human beings, he recognizes those that are better than him and tries to take advantage of it. Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the greatest in the history of football, a legend, and Rudi knows that.”

Al-Nassr return to action on Thursday for a home game against Al-Taee in the Saudi Pro League. For stats and betting tips, check out the Ace Football preview here.
