Cristiano Ronaldo shared a captain-like post on his social media ahead of Juventus’ Champions League clash against Porto.
There isn’t a football fan alive who doesn’t love the Champions League, but Cristiano Ronaldo has a long-term relationship with this competition. The Juventus star has won this European tournament a total of five times but he is yet to complete the deed with the Bianconeri.
Naturally, Ronaldo is looking to lift the Champions League cup with his team for the first time and become the second player to do it six times after Real Madrid’s Francisco Gento. In order to do so, Juventus must pass their first challenge in the UCL’s Round of 16 against Porto. In fact, as the knockout stages begin, the Portuguese captain shared a message all of his teammates should read.
“This is what Champions League is all about: the knockout rounds. It’s almost as if another competition starts from this point on and everybody has to bring their A-game, because every detail can make the difference. In the last couple of years we went home sooner than we wanted, but we continue to aim higher every season and this year is no exception.”
Additionally, Cristiano Ronaldo shared his ambition to reach the Champions League final. Moreover, the Bianconero left a message of hope and strength for himself and his teammates.
“Tomorrow we have a very important game against a very strong team and I can only hope that it may be the beginning of the long walk we want to take until the final. Respect for the opponent, ambition for the victory, and 100% focus on our goals. Let’s go, guys! Fino Alla Fine!”
