The Portuguese superstar has missed United’s entire pre-season campaign amid his uncertain transfer situation.

Cristiano Ronaldo will make his first appearance under Erik ten Hag when Manchester United face Rayo Vallecano on Sunday.

The Red Devils will play their last friendly match before the start of the new Premier League campaign.

Following a 1-0 defeat against Atletico Madrid yesterday, Ten Hag has changed most of his lineup. However, Ronaldo has returned to the Man Utd XI, playing alongside Tahith Chong and Alejandro Garnacho in Ten Hag’s three-man frontline.

Ronaldo has come back to United’s starting lineup amid uncertainty over his future at Old Trafford. The 37-year-old confirmed his return to United’s training yesterday by publishing a photo on his Instagram account.

According to several English sources, CR7 is still keen to leave United. However, the club have insisted they want him as part of their project for the next season.

Jorge Mendes is reportedly continuing his efforts to find a new club for the five-time Ballon d’Or winner. However, he has found little luck as the likes of Chelsea, Bayern Munich, and Atletico Madrid have repeatedly stated they won’t make a bid for the Man Utd forward.
