After his major drama during the match against Serbia, Cristiano Ronaldo reacted to the referee’s controversial decision.
We don’t often see Cristiano Ronaldo making a scene like the one he pulled today against Serbia. The Portugal captain couldn’t believe his bad luck after getting a goal disallowed because VAR isn’t there to help him. As we previously said, the replay shows that the ball definitely crossed the goal line after Cristiano’s shot. There is no other way to dispute this, even the Serbia players have to agree after watching the video.
But the Internet went bananas when they saw Ronaldo taking the captain’s armband and throwing it on the ground. There are Portugal supporters who didn’t like what they saw from their biggest legend. In their view, Cristiano was supposed to keep his cool but his reaction was in the heat of the moment. After several minutes of reflection, Ronaldo finally came out to react to what just happened.

Through Instagram, Cristiano Ronaldo posted a picture of his squad and wrote the following message: “Being captain of the Portugal team is one of the greatest pride and privileges of my life. I always give and will give everything for my country. That will never change. But there are difficult times to deal with, especially when we feel that an entire nation is being harmed.
“Lift your head and face the next challenge now! Let’s go, Portugal!” Up next for Ronaldo and his country, Portugal will have to travel to Luxembourg for the third World Cup Qualifier. Although today’s scenes were deeply frustrating for his country, they still have to think about the next match they will play.
