Brazil legend Ronaldo predicted that Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe will reign the world of football in the near future. He also commented on the speculation regarding the 23-year-old’s link to Real Madrid.
At a very young age, the French striker has become one of the most explosive players in the world. Not only has he won Ligue 1 titles with Monaco and PSG but also has had the honour of lifting the World Cup with France.
We all can agree that Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi have completely governed the footballing sphere over the past 15 years. However, the former Blancos ace believes that Mbappe is the leading name of the upcoming era.
Ronaldo won the Ballon d’Or two times during his sensational career with Inter Milan, Barcelona, and Real Madrid. He also had the opportunity to be part of a successful World Cup campaign in 2002.
Yet the Brazilian star is envious of the economical support that athletes receive in this modern world compared to his days. But he admits that Mbappe retains the qualities like none other and deserves all the praise that he gets.
Ronaldo said of the PSG attacker on Christian Vieri’s Twitch channel Bobo TV: “He is very strong. He has that speed and coolness in front of goal that will lead him to be number one.”
“And I have read the news that he will go to Real Madrid and earn 50 million [euros] a year. We were part of the wrong generation!”
“The football industry is growing so much that it’s only fair that the stars receive more and more money. If it’s like that today, it’s because there were players who inspired them, like we did.”
