The Manchester City boss is reportedly keen to continue his career at the international level, with Brazil being among his suitors.

Ronaldo Nazario hopes Brazil will land a “historic” deal to either appoint Pep Guardiola or Carlo Ancelotti as their next manager.

Brazil hope to end a two-decade wait to reclaim the World Cup title in Qatar. But reports around Tite’s possible departure after the tournament has already led to speculations about his successor.

Guardiola has emerged as a serious candidate to become Brazil’s new manager despite his stable situation at Manchester City.

The former Barcelona boss could become Brazil’s first foreign manager, with Ronaldo embracing the possibility of such a move.

“I would love it,” he told The Guardian. “A European not just with the Brazilian national team but the entire Brazilian football industry.

“A Pep or an Ancelotti could be historic, it could change our history for 100 years.”

Brazil haven’t been able to compete with the dominant European teams in recent tournaments. But Ronaldo believes the Selecao’s squad has enough quality to push for the title in Qatar.

“There’s been a European dominance,” he added. “France, Spain and Germany are always there. England produced a great Euros [campaign].

“But Argentina have gone 35 unbeaten. Brazil look very good, although that doesn’t count for anything.

“In Brazil, we want to win. Let’s see what Tite does. He has options up front, very good ones.”
