At a public event for Santander, Ronaldo Nazario revealed who he thinks are the four best players in football history. You’ll be surprised.
To a lot of avid football fans, Ronaldo Nazario is considered the best striker in football history. The Brazilian legend was destined to become the best ever due to his raw talent to play the sport. However, a terrible knee injury stopped his development and we never knew if he would’ve made it that far.
Regardless of what happened, the former striker still conquered the world after his recovery but he was far from the same skillful player at the start of his career. Fortunately for us, we eventually got the rivalry between Messi and Cristiano, one that Ronaldo Nazario has enjoyed as much as anybody.
One has to note the level of humility from the Brazilian when they ask him about the best players in history. He never includes himself on that list despite deserving a spot.
Ronaldo knows who are the best ever.
At a public event for Banco Santander, the Real Valladolid president spoke about the loaded question. He also discussed the player he would like to sign for his club and which other players he likes at the moment.
“For me, in the classification of the best in history, the four names would be Pele, Maradona, Lionel Messi, and Cristiano Ronaldo, they are the top four in the history of football,” said the legend.
“For CR7, it must be boring to hear that I am the real Ronaldo. People cannot be compared. Cristiano will remain in football history for the goals and for the continuity he has achieved. He will remain one of the best, like Messi.”
“I would sign Mbappe, he is the one who most reminds me of me and my playing times. Neymar is 28 years old and Mbappe is 22. As an investment, it would be more logical to bring the younger [of the two].”
The Valladolid president is just as surprised as everybody by on player: “Haaland is a great player, he is still young and has had a pretty good year with many goals, we will see how he ends it. Surely big teams are going to be watching, but Real Madrid have good players, like Benzema who scores goals every Sunday.”
On the Real Madrid vs Barcelona debate, Ronaldo said: “Right now, it is not that one is better than another, but if Real Madrid had to make a big investment, they should do so thinking about the future.”
