The five-time Ballon d’Or winner is available as a free agent after his mid-season departure from Man Utd.

Former Arsenal goalkeeper David Seaman believes Arsenal would be a “perfect” destination for Cristiano Ronaldo.

A highly-controversial interview with Piers Morgan ended the 37-year-old’s already-broken relationship with Manchester United.

Earlier this week, the club announced Ronaldo leaves Old Trafford on mutual consent.

A host of clubs have emerged as Ronaldo’s possible suitors for a post-World Cup move. An “incredible offer” from an unnamed Saudi side has been reported by CNN while other sources have speculated on a possible transfer to Major League Soccer (MLS).

In recent days, however, rumours around Arsenal’s interest in keeping CR7 in the Premier League have emerged.

Seaman believes the former Man Utd superstar must join Mikel Artera’s team while insisting his remarks about the Red Devils weren’t unfair.

Speaking to TalkTV, the former goalkeeper said: “Ronaldo is far from done and he would be perfect for Arsenal.

“I would applaud him because he’s obviously talking the truth. A lot of the stuff he came out with, is not stuff we haven’t heard.

“We have heard a lot of other experienced players moaning and criticising Man United for the way the ground is and the training. That shocked me and that shouldn’t be happening.

“He’s been all around the world and seen how everywhere has progressed and he comes back to his beloved Man United and nothing has changed.”
