Check out Jose Mourinho’s greatest XI in history consisting of ONLY Real Madrid and Chelsea stars, including Ronaldo and Drogba.
Jose Mourinho may have lost his job as Tottenham manager on Monday, but his legacy will live on.
The Portuguese is one of the most successful coaches in football history. He is a rare breed indeed. From leading underdogs Porto to Champions League success, bagging Inter Milan a historic treble, to winning La Liga with Cristiano Ronaldo and Real Madrid, Mourinho has had one hell of a career.
So, with 2077 games as a head coach under his belt, Transfermarkt has shared an image of Mourinho’s greatest XI.
Using a 4-3-3 formation, Petr Cech starts in goal. Joining him in the defense are former Chelsea teammates John Terry, Ricardo Carvalho, and Paulo Ferreira. Real Madrid left-back Marcelo completes the backline.
Former Blues stars Frank Lampard and Michael Essien head the midfield alongside ex-Real Madrid man Xabi Alonso.
While Cristiano Ronaldo, who scored a brilliant 168 goals in only 164 games under Mourinho at Real Madrid, joins Chelsea legend Didier Drogba and his old Los Blancos teammate Angel Di Maria in the attack.
That said, Transfermarkt missed quite a few big names here.
William Gallas, Javier Zanetti, Iker Casillas, Sergio Ramos, Claude Makelele, Paul Pogba, Wayne Rooney, Mesut Ozil, Romelu Lukaku, Karim Benzema, Samuel Eto’o, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and Eden Hazard are probably just a few to name.
