Former Juventus and Hellas Verona player Pietro Fanna spoke about Serie A’s upcoming fixture and the imminent threat that is Cristiano Ronaldo.
Hellas Verona and Juventus go head-to-head this Saturday night in Italy and the Bianconeri are the clear favorites. However, former Italian international Pietro Fanna, who played for both sides, believes Verona has a chance.
“The key to the match for Verona is the strength of the team, facing them is never easy even if a lot will depend on Juventus. Verona can beat the Bianconeri, even if obviously it will be a very difficult match,” said Fanna.
However, the Gialloblu will need to find a way to stop Cristiano Ronaldo if they want to get anything positive out of the match. The Portuguese striker has been top-notch for Juventus lately, scoring a brace against Crotone just four days ago. In fact, Fanna’s remarks are surely fueled by Cristiano’s tremendous header in the 3-0 win against Crotone.
“One like Ronaldo does not let you sleep at night. He is irrepressible, to block him you have to be almost perfect. He has to be doubled as soon as he gets hold of the ball and then watch out for the aerial game. He is devastating with his head.”
The Bianconeri will be eager to thrash Verona in an attempt to shorten the gap between them and AC Milan. Juventus sit four points behind Pioli’s side with a game in hand.
