Cristiano Ronaldo has been allowed to leave early from international duty by Portugal as everyone awaits his return to Old Trafford.

Cristiano Ronaldo has been granted to leave early from international duty by Portugal, as confirmed on Thursday.

The entire world awaits as the 36-year-old is yet to make his appearance for Manchester United following his transfer from Juventus last week.

However, Ronaldo will now have plenty of time to train for his return to the Premier League next week. This is due to the yellow card that he received against Ireland, ruling him out of action for the game versus Azerbaijan.

“Cristiano Ronaldo was excused from his stay with the national team on Thursday,” the Portuguese Football Federation described in a statement.

“The yellow card he saw against Ireland, as it was the second in this qualifying phase, forces him to serve a one-match suspension, which will take place against Azerbaijan.”

“This morning, the national team captain formed part of the group of players who carried out regenerative exercises in the hotel.”

After becoming the highest scorer in men’s international history against Ireland, Ronaldo will now focus on his major comeback with the Red Devils.

United will welcome their hero on September 11 as they host Newcastle United in the English League.
