Three players are back in the fold as Manchester United take on top-four rivals Arsenal, but Paul Pogba is likely out for the season.

Cristiano Ronaldo, Scott McTominay, and Raphael Varane are available for Saturday’s Premier League clash with Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

The Manchester United trio return after missing Tuesday’s 4-0 defeat to Liverpool. Ronaldo was on compassionate leave after the death of his baby boy. The forward returned to training on Wednesday and interim boss Ralf Rangnick has now confirmed CR7 will make the trip to London.

McTominay, on the other hand, made the bench at Anfield but didn’t play. The midfielder, like Ronaldo, reported back to training this week after recovering from a foot injury.

While Varane has missed United’s last three games against Liverpool, Norwich, and Everton due to muscular problems.

“Scott McTominay will be back and fit to play, he has been in training with us and he will train today, he will be available for the game, the same is true with Raphael Varane,” said Rangnick in a pre-match press conference on Friday.

“Cristiano Ronaldo is available again, he’s been training with us.”

Pogba ‘very likely’ to miss the rest of the season

But it’s not all the good news as Rangnick has announced that Pogba’s calf injury may rule the midfielder out for the rest of the season.

If that’s the case, Pogba, who is out of contract in June, may already have played his last game for the club.

“All of the others are still injured plus Paul Pogba,” said Rangnick.

“Paul, as it seems, with the scan we did the day before yesterday, it is very likely he will not play until the end of the season again.

“The doctor told me it will take four weeks minimum for him to recover and obviously the last game is the end of May. I don’t think it is very likely he will be able to play again [this season].”

Forward Edinson Cavani (calf), midfielder Fred (groin), and left-back Luke Shaw (ankle) are still sidelined for United this weekend.
